Ritual Bathrooms

Two bathrooms within a single-family home in San Jose were redesigned as complementary yet distinctly intentional spaces.

One expresses a warm, Japandi-inspired ritual zone—anchored by a hinoki tub, soft plaster walls, and a walk-in shower. This room functions as a slow, grounding space where daily routines shift into quiet rituals.

The second bathroom adopts a brighter, more architectural presence. Green marble slabs wrap the enlarged shower, introducing a cool mineral vibrancy that contrasts with the surrounding warm wood millwork. Brass hardware threads the two rooms together, while the more enclosed layout creates a sense of privacy and calm.
